Snozone is the most dynamic and the largest indoor ski slope operator in the UK with sites in Milton Keynes,  Castleford and Basingstoke. OPERATIONS MANAGER – MILTON KEYNES

Working as part of the Senior Management team, you will have experience of people management in a single or multi-site business. We are obsessed with our brand standards which in turn provides outstanding guest service and you will have this in mind in everything you do – your success will depend upon it!

Your key focus in the role will be to:

  • Ensure that the site operates effectively and efficiently and presents to the highest standard at all times.
  • Effectively manage costs and maintain budgetary control across maintenance, ensuring that the planned and preventative maintenance schedule is adhered to.
  • Manage all Health and Safety systems to ensure legal requirements are met with regard to fire safety, food and beverage, slope accident reporting, site audits etc.
  • Directly manage the maintenance team and equipment hire team, including team meetings and individual performance meetings.
  • Manage supplier contracts including the site cleaning contractor.
  • Operate as the Senior Manager on duty including open and close shifts on a rota basis.

Naturally, you will be available to work evenings and weekends as required.

INSTRUCTORS / COACHES – SKI & SNOWBOARD

Applications are welcome from Instructors qualified to BASI Level 1 or above (or equivalent) in Alpine Skiing or Snowboarding. We are also interested in hearing from instructors qualified to teach Freestyle, Race or Adaptive in either discipline. We recruit team members who effortlessly engage with guests, work effectively in teams and who revel in the challenge of delivering excellent lessons and sessions.

APPRENTICE COMMIS CHEF – MILTON KEYNES

We are seeking to recruit a commis chef to undertake a full Apprenticeship in our Restaurant!

Our Commis Chefs prepare and produce fresh food to a high quality on a daily basis. This creates a dynamic and exciting environment, with very busy lunchtime services and daily menu changes.

Our restaurant offers a range of choice for breakfast and lunch services, including hot food, deli, soups and sandwiches, cream teas and home baked cakes.

Working for us allows you to develop your skills across all sections in line with a formal Apprenticeship, allowing you to apply your training in the workplace.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • To ensure the delivery of excellent restaurant food to meet our brand standards, playing their part in maximising our customers’ experience. This all helps towards satisfying our customers and ensuring repeat visits.
  • You will need to comply with Health & Safety and food hygiene guidelines and also help in the delivery of the operational priorities for the site.

*Please note: Candidates must be prepared to attend college one day per week.

HEAD OF RENTAL – CASTLEFORD (contract)

We are looking for a Head of Rental at Castleford.

Head of Rental will manage a customer facing team, ensuring that the highest standard of service is delivered which culminates in the delivery of a great experience for our customers. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous management experience in a customer-focused environment.

Your key focus in the role will be to:

  • Ensure staff rotas reflect the operational requirements and the optimum level of customer service and engagement
  • Develop cross training within the departments
  • Ensure all team members are exceeding KPI targets and PDP objectives and that corrective coaching is applied where required
  • Act as the Senior Manager on shift and conduct opening and closing procedures
  • Provide inspiring leadership, be a standard bearer for the Company’s values and deliver outstanding customer service at all times

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage with team members will be core to your management style.

You will contribute to the team by taking responsibility for providing the highest possible standard of service that delivers an outstanding experience for our guests.

You will ideally have experience of working in the leisure or hospitality industry, however your energy and positive attitude are more important to us. You will be a proactive team member, keen to use your own initiative to always improve the guest experience.

DIGITAL MARKETING EXECUTIVE

Our Digital Marketing Executive will oversee the online marketing strategy for Snozone. You will plan and execute digital (including email) marketing campaigns and design, maintain and supply content for Snozone’s website.

In addition, you will engage with our guests and members through social media and ensure visitor flow to digital sites. You will be responsible for analysing and reporting on visitor data and devise new ways to market our products.

Key skills

  • Editing and writing skills: You need to devise and edit content for various digital platforms. Writing blog posts will be an integral part of the job – a firm grasp of spelling and grammar is essential.
  • Speaking skills: These will mainly be deployed internally. You will need to be able to explain coherently to fellow team members and the management team who may not be familiar with the medium, how digital technologies work and what their marketing application is
  • Video editing skills and web development skills: whilst we don’t expect you to be a software developer, an understanding/knowledge of HTML/JavaScript would be useful and strong knowledge of search engine optimisation and advanced Word and Powerpoint skills is essential
  • PPC experience and a good understanding of Google Adwords
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics would be an advantage
  • Project management skills: due to the varied nature of the role and the fact Snozone is open 364 days a year, also need to be good at handling time-sensitive projects and working to deadlines
  • You should have at least one year’s experience in a similar role
