Snozone are extremely proud to be partnering with Sense (www.sense.org.uk) – a national charity that supports people who are deafblind, those with sensory impairments and those with complex needs, to enjoy more independent lives.
Deafblindness is a combination of sight and hearing impairments that affects someone’s ability to communicate, access information and get around. There are approximately 358,000 people in the UK who are deafblind, with a figure estimated to rise to half a million by 2030.
A person with complex needs has a range of health and/or medical needs. This may include sensory impairments, learning or physical disabilities and autism. Sense’s specialist services are built around the wishes and needs of the individual, supporting people to be as independent as possible. Their services include a range of housing options, resource centres, educational support, short breaks, sport and wellbeing programmes.
